Keys To The Kingdom
What is the T-shirt Party you ask? On Thanksgiving Day, Wheeler Mission puts on an event called the Drumstick Dash and each participant gets a t-shirt. They are anticipating 12,000 runners in the race this year. That said, the company that produces the t-shirts individually tags and bags each shirt. Wheeler needs our help to open the individually wrapped t-shirts, cut the tags off, lay them in piles of 12 and then fold them as a bundle. This is a huge task and they need our help! They have to turn in 3,000 shirts each week to their screen printer!
If you can volunteer, email or call Joy Brown ASAP to sign up! joy@citycommunitychurch.com or 317-542-3135, ext.103.

This Sunday, we kick off another week of our Scribbles series. Make sure you check out CityCom's Facebook page and share what you've been scribbling. Here are just a few scribbles we saw on our CityCom Facebook page this week:
"I've NEVER been into the whole "journal" thing but I decided to try a shot at it and WOW! what a week to start. It's been a great week and can't wait to see what God creatively shows me tomorrow after a pretty intense time today!"
"I have dreams. Why do I always stop myself from dreaming them? Why don't I take risks anymore?"
"God's mercy isn't only reserved for the most holy (or those who appear that way). Mercy & grace are given to those who DON'T deserve it. MY list of those that I think don't deserve it doesn't matter. It's just judgmental and wrong even if I feel like I have a great reason to feel that way."

More SCRIBBLES this Sunday at City Community Church! Take a glimpse inside the personal journals of CityCom's leaders, and learn a little more about how to record and process the things God is speaking into your own life.
Tara Gentry will be speaking this week. The challenge of her message is this:
Jesus said, "Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." The kingdom of God calls for a continuous childhood of irrational trust and inconceivable faith. As you move forward in life, are you growing up into or growing out of your faith?
I promise you don't want to miss her real-life wisdom. Tara is the real deal, with Biblical insight that's lived out consistently in the 167 of life. Can't wait to hear what she has to say.
Central Library, Sunday morning at 11AM. See you there!

There's a grassroots effort brewing from some inspiring CityCom'ers passionate to end child slavery. This September, they will be riding their bikes from Monument Circle to the Statue of Liberty, all to raise money and awareness for a great organization called Love 146.
Even if you don't have a bike or the desire to ride 1,000 miles, you can still get involved! Learn more about this exciting adventure here:
This September, CityCom will be launching a new round of small groups intended to help you live into God's Kingdom in the 167 of life (those hours of the week you're not in a church service). This season, we'll be utilizing groups based around interest (Bible Studies, marriage, finances), geography (people who live by you), and Interact (service opportunities). If you're interested in leading a group, please contact info@citycommunitychurch.com to setup a time for us to talk with you.
